I'll give LiveJournal this: it's easy to use and has just enough functionality to do what I want--not for my personal journal but for my technical one (monocerosfour (http://monocerosfour.livejournal.com/))--and it's much easier to update than the WordPress pages I was keeping up for a while and which disappeared once the Dreamhost account was cancelled. (Didn't really keep on top of that one, and I lost a few photos that I stupidly hadn't backed up anywhere.)
