That random journal button up top they just put in? That is the most horrible thing they could have done.

Was this a decision of that new elected group that was paraded around LJ like American Idol contestants?

Why did LJ have to start sucking after I got a permanent membership?

I don't see it. Is it theme specific?

It did strike me as rather pointless O_o

I imagined it could be good for comedy--click on the random link and see what horrifying crap turns up--but Misha tried it and came up mostly with spam pages, so there wasn't even any Schadenfreude to be had from the exercise.

Yeah, that's pretty dumb.

...But if this alone is enough to make you consider leaving Livejournal, I think you need to re-assess your priorities. o_o;

Oh, there's other things that have pissed me off about LJ. And I'm not leaving since LJ is still a competent RSS reader and all my friends still have journals here.

But more and more, LJ is slowly changing in a direction I'm not too sure I like.

If one were able to migrate one's LJ to something better...

I recently found out that Wordpress offers an LJ import script. I'm setting up a Multiple User system at work, and doing the same for the furry community would be easy.

If we could get friends lists added, and get people to migrate, we'd be set. :D

Hell, I'd sign up.

I'll give LiveJournal this: it's easy to use and has just enough functionality to do what I want--not for my personal journal but for my technical one (monocerosfour (http://monocerosfour.livejournal.com/))--and it's much easier to update than the WordPress pages I was keeping up for a while and which disappeared once the Dreamhost account was cancelled. (Didn't really keep on top of that one, and I lost a few photos that I stupidly hadn't backed up anywhere.)

Why does it rain for three GD days right after watering the lawn?

Same principle.
